Botswana parliament reports more applications for support programmes since the support programmes started. 452 and 7 806 applications have been received countrywide for Livestock Management and Infrastructure Development (LIMID) and Arable Land Development Programme (ALDEP) respectively. Answering a question from Letlhakeng West MP, Mr Filbert Nagafela, Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Olifant Mfa, said out of the 452 LIMID applications, 243 were approved, 21 rejected and 188 returned due to incomplete documentation. He said the rejections were because of none qualification according to the set criteria. As for Letlhakeng West, Mr Mfa said 64 and 322 applications were recived for LIMID and ALDEP respectively. Twenty-six LIMID applications were approved, one was rejected and 37 returned for additional information. In regard to ALDEP, 102 applications were approved, one rejected and 94 returned for additional information. Mr Nagafela had asked for statistical information on the number of applicants for ALDEP and LIMID, particularly from Letlhakeng West constituency.
